We’re Jennifer and Arön Toland, and we live deep in British Columbia’s Chilcotin wilderness, where we’re restoring and running a remote fishing resort, growing and gathering food, and steadily discovering that finishing one project usually creates three more.

You may know us from Mountain Men, Season 12, and Mountain Men: Wild North. Here on our members’ blog, you can settle in for the longer story—told by the people living it.

The cameras leave. Life carries on.

There are gardens to harvest, logs to mill, meals to make, and repairs that rarely consult our schedule. Getting supplies takes planning, travelling to town is an undertaking, and the weather reserves the right to cancel everything.

There are also evenings on the lake that make us forget the work entirely.

I’m Jennifer, and this blog is where I bring you into that life through stories, photographs, practical experience, and the occasional admission that our brilliant idea needed considerably more thought. Alongside the adventures, you’ll find the quieter parts: the animals we love, the seasons we live by, and what it takes to share a home, a livelihood, and a very long to-do list with one other person.
